Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Novessa. Novessa operates internationally and its services are not directed at, or limited to, visitors in any single country. Further registration details for the controlling entity will be added here once confirmed. To reach us about your data, use the contact details at the end of this page.

What we collect

Waitlist. If you join the waitlist we collect your email address, and a name if you give one.

Enquiries and demo requests. If you use the “book a demo” form we collect your name, email, and optionally your company, along with the message you write.

Assistant. If you use the website assistant, we process the text you type and, if you choose voice mode, the audio of what you say and its transcription, together with the assistant’s replies, for the duration of that conversation. The microphone starts only when you choose voice mode, stops after a stretch of silence, and the panel shows when it is on.

Technical. Standard server logs (including a truncated or proxied IP address) used to rate-limit abuse and keep the service running.

Why we use it, and our basis for doing so

Waitlist and enquiry data is used to contact you about Novessa and to respond to what you asked. Assistant input is used only to generate a reply to you in that session. Technical data is used to protect and operate the service. Depending on the activity, our basis for the processing is your consent or our legitimate interest in running and securing the site.

Third parties who process data for us

We keep the list of processors short and describe them by category below.

• Third-party AI providers process your voice and text input to transcribe speech, generate the assistant’s responses, and synthesise those responses as audio.
• A cloud database provider stores waitlist and enquiry form submissions.
• A hosting provider serves the site and processes the associated server logs.

Some of these providers operate in other countries. Where personal data is transferred across borders, we rely on an appropriate safeguard for that transfer.

Retention

Live assistant conversations are not stored. Whether you type or use voice mode, the text and any transcription of your speech are processed only to generate a reply to you and are not written to any database or kept after that response. Waitlist and enquiry data is kept until you ask us to delete it or it is no longer needed for the purpose you gave it for.

Data relating to people who have died

Novessa’s research involves representing a specific person after their death. This is only ever done with the consent of that person’s immediate family, who can have the representation permanently deleted at any time. The detailed handling of that data and of the family consent process is governed separately from this website policy.

Changes

When this policy is materially changed, the date at the top of this page will be updated.
